EA have released some info on some upcoming DLC for it’s awesome skateboarding sim, Skate 2. Supposedly it is based on “the largest pursed event in the history of professional skateboarding”.
“Skate 2 has been embraced by the gaming and skateboarding community across the globe, making it the perfect stage for the Maloof Money Cup’s videogame debut,” said Joe Maloof, President of Maloof Companies. “Now players everywhere can experience the world’s greatest skateboarding championship and revel in the high-stakes excitement of the competition for themselves.”
It will be 240 MP’s, or a couple of quid on the PSN!
EA have released a trailer of gameplay footage for FIFA 10. They say that the game “features core gameplay refinements based on responsiveness and intelligence, plus a completely overhauled Manager Mode that includes more than 50 major improvements.”
Alot of controversy has sparked up since the release of the latest Fight Night. Round 4 does not currently include the option to use buttons, and forces player to use the Total Punch Control’ with the analogue sticks, which has got gamers outraged.
EA have announced that they are considering releasing a patch to solve the problem. Producer Brian Hayes said: “There is no option for face button punching in the final version, but we are investigating providing the option via DLC,”.
Patrick Soderlund, Vice President of EA has announced that Mirror’s Edge 2 is in development. In an interview with Videogamer, he said: “You will see another Mirror’s Edge for sure. It’s just a matter of when that time is and what we do with it. We have a small team on it and I’m excited about what we do.”
He also said that EA took a chance with the original game, and wished it had sold more after it’s release. “Mirror’s Edge was a risky move. It was a bold move, a very innovative and inspiring move. The game wasn’t perfect by any means. We would have liked the game to sell better even though the game has sold better than most people think.”
No other details were announced, but I’m a huge fan of the first game so I’m pretty excited!
Criterion will be developing the new Need for Speed game, EA announced this morning.
“We’ve taken the Burnout team and combined it with our Need for Speed franchise…So we now have that in our favour because that Burnout team is probably one of the more online-centric and notably high-quality game developers that we have out at Criterion.”
Also announced was Dice working on a number of new Battlefield games, including Battlefield 3!
“I’ve had the luxury of looking at Battlefield 3 over at Dice in Sweden and was highly impressed by the way the team is working on that product,” said John Pleasants, EA’s chief operating officer. “Of course, that’s not [coming out] in the fiscal year, but that is a product that is looking very good.”
Battlefield 3 has got me excited, I just hope they don’t try and turn the Need for Speed series in Burnout.
